In my 20-plus years in the industry, the biggest PR, IR and brand-building issue for a company is the missed opportunity. You will continually hear about the company that should have been in a story and would have been if only that company were known. Or, the media contacted the company, which was not prepared to answer or did not provide a "grabber" comment that was worthy of inclusion in the article.

Our process also uses the initial relationship period (the transition), which often does not have the obvious "news" stimulus, to build all foundational tools such as speaker packets, fact sheets, pitching topics and byline articles, and begin initiating timely proactive outreaches, including pitching speaking opportunities and arranging meetings with industry validators, among others.
